Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
Today's competitive world demands good quality education. Quality in terms of faculty, good academic environment , teaching-learning process, research, campus life, class-rooms and environment, support services and infrastructure , modernization of library, updating of library books, journals and reference materials. Emoluments of academic and support staff do matter. Today improving the quality of education and campus life is the major concern of higher education.
For maintaining the momentum of quality consciousness in the college, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been conceived as a mechanism to build and ensure a quality culture at the institutional level with appropriate structure and processes, and with enough flexibility to meet the diverse need of the stakeholders viz. parents, teachers, staff, would-be employers, funding agencies and society in general. The IQAC is meant for planning, guiding and monitoring Quality Assurance and Quality enhancement activities of higher education. The present IQAC has been channelizing as well as systematizing the efforts and measures of an institution towards academic excellence. The present Coordinator, IQAC of Nowgong College is Dr. Balin Kr. Bhuyan.

To keep all the records of various functions of the institution up-dated, the IQAC , Nowgong College has set up a Documentation Cell. The cell is also entrusted with keeping the college website www.nowgongcollege.edu.in to be functional and updated. The important data and information preserved in the Documentation Cell facilitates all members of the college to be acquainted with both past and recent activities and developments of the college.
Research cell of Nowgong College has been set up with the aim of inculcating a research culture among the faculty members of the college. The main objective of the cell is to improve research practices of the institution. Recently the college has published a research journal entitled 'Delve' under the supervision of the Cell.
The cell provides necessary information regarding:
1. Various schemes of Major/ Minor Research Projects.
2. Seminars/ workshops/ conferences/ symposiums and other Faculty Development Programmes.
3. Identification of funding agencies.
The cell encourages faculty members to:
(i) Pursue Ph.D. and M.Phil. Programme.
(ii) Undertake Major/ Minor Research Projects.
(iii) Organize regional/state/national/international workshops, seminars and conferences.
(iv) Participate in regional/state/national/international workshops, seminars and conferences.
(v) Avail unlimited internet facility.
EXTENSION ACTIVITIES CELL
Since education and society are closely interlinked, community outreach programme is a very significant aspect in the teaching-learning practices of the college.The Extension Activities Cell of Nowgong College has adopted a village named Borhola near Bebejia in Nagaon District and has conducted various developmental activities. The village is situated 12 km away from Nagaon town. The members of the Extension Activities Cell along with some of the students visited the village several times to make a survey of the socio-economic condition of the villagers. A group of students, faculty members and the Principal of Nowgong College visited the village in various occasions and extended all sorts of help and assistance. Apart from that, seminars, awareness programmes, medical camp, etc. have been organized among the people of the village.
