History of the Library:
The Nowgong College Central Library, named Mahendranath Maihangdang Dekaphukan Library came into being along with the establishment of the college on 7 th August, 1944 . The college library has played a significant role for the development of higher education in central Assam . The library has around 52000 nos. of books, 20 nos. of journals/ magazines and many news papers and periodicals. The library has a distinctive blazon of its own and it has played a significant role in the intellectual development of the student community in particular and the society in general.
Services offered
A maximum of 4 books are issued to the students of Major Course and 2 books are issued to the students of Pass Course & HS classes, for a duration of 15 days. Renewal facility is also available for the students.
A maximum of 20 books are issued to the faculty members for a period of 2 months. Journals and periodicals are also issued to the faculty members as per their requirements.
Consultancy service is also offered to both students and faculty members if required.
Spacious reading room and reprographic services are available in the library
At present the college library is fully equipped with digital technology. The digital library facilitated the students/teachers to have easy accessibility to e-documents in different corners of the globe.

Hostels
S.P.P GIRLS’ HOSTEL
Nowgong College has a Girls’ hostel located in the college premises. It consists of four blocks with adequate facilities. For admission in the hostel a student has to apply in a prescribed form available in the college office. Admission is made on the basis of merit, considering distance, physical disability etc. Admission to Girls’ Hostel is made after attaching the list of selected girls in the notice board.
BOYS’ HOSTEL
Nowgong College has a well-furnished boys’ hostel having the following facilities:

Computer Centre
The college has two computer laboratories, one funded by DST and the other by UGC. Both the laboratories provide internet facilities which can be availed by students and teachers for their academic purposes. The laboratories play a significant role in enabling students to pursue a regular computer application course.
Auditorium
The college has an auditorium with a capacity of accommodating at least 800 people and all basic amenities of light sound, greenroom, etc. The formal meetings, social and cultural functions, intra and inter college competitions of music, dance, debate and quiz etc. take place in the auditorium.
Banking facilities for the students
An extension counter of Assam Gramin Vikas Bank has been opened in the College Campus to facilitate financial transactions and other facilities for the College community especially the students.
The newly admitted students can avail the “Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana” (PMSBY) which gives accident benefits. A student can avail this opportunity by opening a zero balance saving bank account with the Nowgong College campus by paying an Amount of Rs. 12.00 (twelve only) for PMSBY.
Gym & Fitness Center
The college has a gymnasium that focuses on physical fitness of students as it is believed that a sound mind resides only in a healthy physique. The students avail full benefit from the gymnasium during leisure time.
Canteen
The college has a hygienic food joint for students and staff of the college. It also provides a comfortable environment for refreshment during their stipulated work-schedule. Nutritious food items with very reasonable prices have made the canteen accessible to students coming from different financial backgrounds.
